Ayomide – Cyber Security

“I want to end the use of fake drugs. They kill people.”

The Visiola Foundation has been a cornerstone in transforming my life and enabling me to achieve success against all odds. In 2015, I was privileged to be sponsored by the Foundation to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at Lead City University, Ibadan. This opportunity was nothing short of a dream come true. With the Foundation’s unwavering support and mentorship, I graduated in the 2018/2019 cohort as the Overall Best Student.

While my academic journey was rooted in biochemistry, my perspective began to shift during one of the Visiola Foundation’s coding boot camps I attended during my undergraduate studies. That experience opened my eyes to the vast possibilities in the world of technology, igniting a passion for cybersecurity that I had not previously considered. I sought out opportunities to learn and grow in this field.

I enrolled in a cybersecurity fellowship program and complemented this training with various online courses. These experiences gave me strong skills in cybersecurity, preparing me for a constantly changing field. This year, I achieved a significant milestone by earning my CompTIA Security+ certification, a globally recognized credential that validates my knowledge and commitment to the field.

Today, I am honoured to work with the Visiola Foundation as a STEM Instructor and Cybersecurity Lead. In this capacity, I have the privilege of empowering young girls and women to discover their potential in STEM fields, just as the Foundation did for me.

This journey has been one of resilience, growth, and gratitude. The Visiola Foundation not only gave me access to education but also planted the seed that has flourished into a fulfilling career in technology. I look forward to achieving greater milestones while continuing to give back to my community.
